The big change for the 2024 model year is the introduction of a beefier engine for the base model. A 2.5-liter turbocharged engine steps in to provide notably more power. The fuel economy is still great for the class, too. Minor aesthetic changes come for the 2024 model year, but the style notes stick to the tested Genesis formula. PEAK PERFORMANCE

The new 2.5-liter motor option generates 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Especially given the car's compact design, it has loads of takeoff. Brembo brakes are now standard across the lineup so you can reign in all that power quickly, too. You can also expect 21 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. The car's open-road driving range is over 450 miles due to a 15.8-gallon fuel tank.

If you demand even more power, the vaunted 3.3-liter V-6 engine for the Genesis is still an option. Similarly turbocharged, it does zero to 60 mph in well under five seconds thanks to its 365-horsepower output. Its fuel economy is still respectable at 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

Rear- and all-wheel drives (AWD) are available for both setups. Both also use an eight-speed automatic.

GREAT LOOKS

The G70's muscular disposition pairs with gorgeous looks. It is a curvy and aerodynamic car with a long front end.
